The Dodge City Convention and Visitors Bureau is pleased to announce approval of four marketing grants totaling $7,000 used for projects promoting Dodge City attractions and events. The grants were approved by a special grant committee. The committee is made up of members of the Dodge City community.
Grant Recipients are:
Central Station-Winter and Spring Comedy Shows
Dodge City Roundup-Rodeo Events
Rocking M-Winter Expo
Dodge City Ambucs-Great Plains Regional Conference
These marketing projects will reach Kansas and numerous other states. The marketing grants will be used to market the events for the purpose of bringing visitors to town and raising awareness of happenings in the community, with the end results increasing attendance to events and attractions, increasing business for local restaurants and retailers, and raising the occupancy in the local hotels.
This grant was formed in February 2014, to work in tandem with the other locally offered grants through Festivals, Main Street, Mariah Funds, and Why Not Dodge.
The grant is available for marketing projects, for attractions, for venues, for those who hold an event, or are looking to complete a marketing project in Ford County that will attract overnight guests to the community. The grant is being awarded prior to the completion of the project, with additional requirements after completion. The grant can cover 80% of the marketing costs, up to $2,000 per project. The grant deadline was October 31, 2016, and will be available again April 30, 2017. All applicants are required to use the “Get the Heck into Dodge” logo, or otherwise recognize the source of the funding in the marketing project.
